Sado Mine sold to Mitsubishi Joint Stock Company from Imperial Household Agency

1918 (Taisho 7)

Coal mine and mining division became independent as Mitsubishi Mining Co., Ltd.

1950 (Showa 25)

The metal division became independent as Taihei Mining (now Mitsubishi Materials Corporation).

1962 (Showa 37)

Mitsubishi Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (now Mitsubishi Materials Co., Ltd.) started a tourism business using the Sodayu Mine as a sightseeing tunnel.

1970 (Showa 45)

GOLDEN SADO CO., LTD established as a tourism company

1973 (Showa 48)

Sado Mine becomes independent as Sado Gold Mine Co., Ltd.

1989 (Heisei 1)

Sado Gold Mine Co., Ltd. ceased mining operations that lasted for 388 years and merged with GOLDEN SADO CO., LTD
